PCE Written Component: Update on Exam Scheduling

As announced on June 25, PCE candidates will now have the option to complete the Written Component of the Physiotherapy Competency Exam through the ProProctor remote proctoring platform. Over the past month, the CAPR exams department has been working hard behind the scenes with Prometric to ensure the successful launch of this new exam delivery method, as well as to confirm capacity at traditional bricks and mortar test centres across the country.

We anticipate finalizing the details of all 2020 Written Component administrations by the end of July. CAPR will contact registered exam candidates directly to provide complete instructions about exam scheduling through Prometric. Starting with WC Exam 1 (August 29, 2020), registered candidates will be able to schedule their exam on the Prometric site, choosing either a seat at a physical test centre or remote proctoring.

All 367 candidates registered for the WC Exam 1 are guaranteed a spot in the August 29 administration. As of July 24, 2020, Prometric anticipates being able to provide 290 physical seats in 28 test centres across 10 Canadian provinces and 200 remote proctoring spaces. CAPR will provide updates regarding this availability should capacity change due to modified public health directives.

We thank PCE candidates for their continued patience as we navigate exam delivery during these exceptional times. Please review our updated FAQ for more information about the remote proctoring option.
