Meet Chris Boodram
October 18, 2019 While physiotherapists in all 10 provinces are regulated by a College with a Registrar, physiotherapists in the Yukon are regulated directly by the Government. Chris Boodram is the Regulatory Affairs Officer responsible for physiotherapists, licenced practical nurses, registered psychiatric nurses, dentists, dental hygienists and, interestingly, charitable gaming – bingo! In addition, Chris is currently working to develop a regulatory framework for midwifery.
Chris, who is a member of CAPR’s pan-Canadian Registrars Committee, appreciates the support that CAPR offers in the areas of entry-to-practice competency and credential assessments and in providing a forum for the 11 Canadian regulators to discuss matters of mutual concern and share expertise. He describes CAPR as ‘an extremely well-run organization’. Thanks Chris!
A social worker by training, Chris spent many years engaged in federal public health policy before heading to the Yukon with his partner. Originally a city boy, since moving to the Yukon he has fallen in love with the Canadian wilderness, taken up hiking and camping and has learned a tremendous amount about bear safety.
CAPR is grateful to Chris and the many other stakeholders and committee members who help CAPR achieve our mission which is to support the physiotherapy community in protecting the public.
