Credentialling processing times impacted by COVID-19 pandemic, high volume of applications

In addition to the operational adjustments CAPR has made in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Credentialling Program has received a higher than normal volume of applications so far in 2020. While our team continues to process new applications, our processing times are being impacted by these converging factors.

At this time, we continue to process precedent files within our published timelines of 10-12 weeks. Our processing timelines for non-precedent files are being significantly impacted by the COVID-19 related service disruptions being experienced by some of our key credentialling partners, including World Education Services (WES) and International Credential Assessment Service of Canada (ICAS).

We are currently processing mail received in mid-February. We anticipate that this backlog will continue. Applicants in the document collection and assessment stages of the application process can expect delays. While it is not possible for us to provide precise timelines for when additional mail will be processed, please rest assured that applicants will not be penalized for any delays that occur as a result of CAPR’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  As previously announced, applicants nearing the end of their credentialling period should contact us to discuss an appropriate extension.

CAPR’s Credentialling Officers and Client Service Coordinator remain committed to delivering excellence in credentialling services and responding to applicant questions during this time. Please note that under the current circumstances, the team is replying to emails within 3-5 business days.
