CAPR’s Katya Masnyk Co-recipient of CLEAR Innovation Session Award

CAPR’s CEO Katya Masnyk has been named a co-recipient of a 2019 Innovation Session Award by the Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation (CLEAR). Katya and her co-creators/presenters Rita Parikh (British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals) and Suzie Kardong-Edgren (Center for Medical Simulation) received the honour for their work on a session titled, “Avatars, Goggles, and Gloves: Oh My! A Debate on the Future of Competency Assessments”. The session explored the potential roles of artificial intelligence, virtual reality and serious gaming in the future of competency assessment. The trio presented the session in a mock debate‑style forum at CLEAR’s 2019 Annual Educational Conference held on September 12, 2019, in Minneapolis.

CLEAR’s Innovation Session Awards were created to honour work done to share valuable information with others in the regulatory community. Award winners will be invited to present their winning sessions in upcoming CLEAR webinars and featured podcasts.

Congratulations to Katya, Rita and Suzie on this well-earned award!
