Alternative Evaluation Process Available for Refugees and Protected Persons

With the arrival of several thousand Syrian refugees in Canada in 2015, and with more expected to arrive this year, we are aware that there may be refugees or protected persons who completed a physiotherapy program in their home country who wish to have their credentials assessed by the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR).

CAPR has a longstanding procedure to assist applicants having difficulty securing educational documents from their institution. This alternative evaluation process is available for refugees and others from all countries who are unable to document their qualifications for good reasons.

Please note that those who are able to obtain documentation from their educational institution as per CAPR’s requirements will not be qualified to pursue an alternative evaluation process.

If you are refugee or protected person, please contact the credentialling department for further assistance at credentialling@alliancept.org
