Eligibility & Future Applicants
Anyone who received their physiotherapy education outside of Canada and who wishes to be eligible to take the Physiotherapy Competency Exam (PCE) must have their educational credentials and qualification assessed through The Alliance Credentialling Process.
For example, if you received your physiotherapy education in the United States of America and want to practice in any province or territory in Canada (except Québec) you must first apply to The Alliance for a credentialing assessment. L'ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec conducts credentialling assessments in Québec. For more information on the credentialling process in Québec, visit www.oppq.qc.ca.
If you are a Canadian citizen educated in another country, you must also first apply for a credentialling assessment. Graduates of Canadian physiotherapy programs do not need to complete an Educational Credential and Qualification Assessment to take the PCE.
There are no exceptions to this assessment requirement.
The current version of Educational Credential Assessment Package is the official version of Credentialling Policies and Procedures.
