Planning to Apply for Provisional Practice in Ontario?

Are You Planning to Apply for a Provisional Practice Certificate in Ontario?

What You Need to Know.

Effective April 1, 2017, the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario is making changes to the monitoring requirements for anyone who holds a Provisional Practice Certificate of Registration. These changes will affect you if you are a new graduate or an internationally educated physiotherapist applying to be a Physiotherapy Resident with a Provisional Practice Certificate of Registration in Ontario.

Independent Practice Physiotherapists who choose to work with Physiotherapy Residents will be referred to as Supervisors, not Practice Monitors and the term Practice Monitoring will now be called Supervision.

Your potential Supervisor must have had an Independent Practice Certificate of Registration in Ontario for a minimum of three years.  Supervisors will be approved by the College and cannot be related to the Physiotherapy Resident (for example, spouse, family member, business partner).

For all the details, we encourage you to visit the website of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario by clicking here.  If you still have questions, you can contact the College at 416-591-3828 ext. 222 or by email at registration@collegept.org.
