CAPR and Canadian Physiotherapy Regulators Release Values Statement Supporting Joint Physiotherapist-PTA/PRT Practice

CAPR and the Canadian Physiotherapy Regulators recognize and value the partnership between Physiotherapists (PTs) and Physiotherapist Assistants (PTAs) and Physical Rehabilitation Therapists (PRTs).

We recognize that PTs and PTAs/PRTs, working together in the best interest of patients, can and do benefit patients, their families, and the health system as a whole by increasing accessibility, supporting diversity of care providers and practice settings, and enhancing access to care that supports the health needs of a diverse and constantly changing Canadian population.

Our guiding principles, which include, inter-disciplinary care, public interest and timely access to care, have helped us to develop our full values statement, which can be read here.
